It is a beautiful time of year. We look backward to a millenia-old story. We look forward to the next year of our lives. We are inspired by the power of a baby's birth. If I had been on that hill with the shepherds, I think that perhaps the angel chorus sounded something like this. This soprano aria and "Glory to God" are among my favorite selections from Handel's Messiah.

Erin, time for a new post. I don't mean to be pushy . . . I just miss your wonderful writing in the sea of mediocre blogs. This Christmas post is a wonderful sentiment . . . but vaguely reminiscent of that post you once did about that stray cat in the NYTimes.
